Hugh had a moment of heatstroke and cut off his hair to an off the collar bob. Not too bad a job really, but the fine straight hairs on the top needed both protein for strength and moisture to encourage the curl to come back. Solution: a regime of protein based shampoo followed with a humectant (for retaining moisture), moisturising conditioner, and a third step. A leave-in (not a leaven) conditioner, ideally with a sunscreen to prevent further damage and moisturise during the day. Recommended shampoo: one dermatologically prescribed for slowing or reversing hair loss (if you are lucky). Recommended conditioner: Ana de Sanctis 's OLIO range: for coloured hair, (more humectants). Or their ORTIGA range for falling hair, which contains ORTIGA, or stinging nettles to encourage circulation (the photo is of ORTIGA in another range). Recommended third step conditioner: L'Oreal revival creme or GOLD Morrocco ARGAN OIL What are the top 3 causes of hair loss? Well excluding of course radiation from therapy, sunspots or being born in Chernobyl or Bhopal, the top 3 ways hair loss can happen with men is:
3. STRESS. It can turn your hair white overnight so don't be fooled that it won't cause you to wake up hairless. Tip: Don't stress about it, find your zen spot and visit often. Warning! R16 Explicit head exploding video below. Your viewing discretion is advised. This post was meant for halloween but as I celebrate my birthday that eve it has taken a few days to get back on track. Deciding to be an English speaking hairdresser in Buenos Aires that doesn't charge has I'm sure caused a few heads to explode, It for me has been a great boludo filter. Empowerment - Responsibility - Understanding - Quality - Progression Zeitgeist Now! We sow the seeds of change, nature grows them, then we eat them. Enjoy the exploding heads! My fingers lost their feeling, not a great thing for a hairdresser. A day later, though I have feeling in them again, today they are still shrivelled and wrinkled like I've been in the bath too long. Why? Ironically, it was the Botox (for hair), not really the products fault as I didn't wear gloves (duh!) Samantha had an afro and our mission was to ease out the tightness of the mega mini ringlets, we achieved this and some! With a large dose of humor and patients, the hours rolled away and her newest change of style emerged. See photos. Samantha tells me that in the USA it is common for afro headed travelers to have their hair searched for contraband and of a woman who found a rock in her hair once that didn't know how it got there! It's interesting the conversations that pop up. Back in the days when thatched rooves were the usual option, of wigs and lead-based makeup, the less wealthy would at times awaken to find birds, snakes, spiders or even vermin nesting in their coiffured locks. Someone came up with the bright idea of placing four posts to the corner of the bed and draping fabric across the top to catch the wildlife that would fall at night. These days four poster beds are still catching wildlife... In Buenos Aires today you need to watch out for "landmines" on the sidewalk, back in those days though they would open the windows and throw out buckets of shit. Kind of puts the trash throwing bad habits of the average Argentine into perspective, yes? Thanks Samantha Sent from my Windows Phone More to come on the results of this shoot but even though we were running to catch the light the spread for the NYC magazine launch should work out OK! NOTE!!! This is a snap from my phone and is NOT Patricio´s finished product Francesca Fiorentini21 hours ago near Buenos Aires ·

Wedding Hairstyles: English Speaking Hairdresser in Buenos Aires 7 Step Plan For Perfect Hair5/14/2012 A lot of preparation has to go into the bride´s dress, and the same needs to be said, her crowning glory, the hair on her head. Follow this, your English Speaking Hairdresser in Buenos Aires´s 7 Step Plan For Perfect Hair. Asimple guide on how to plan for the perfect wedding hairstyle. For the salon sluts out there, you know who you are, those lost in the purgatory of hair care or simply those who dare a scare, this won´t be such a problem. Weeks before your wedding day simply choose a hairdresser that will make your do at the wedding. Find a hairdresser that is recommended by someone you know and trust; maybe even someone you´ve had a good experience with. For the rest, unfortunately even if you have a regular stylist you love, this doesn´t guarantee you great wedding day hair, but if they love you they will hopefully have some contacts. Your English speaking hairdresser in Buenos Aires recommends if you cannot secure my services for your hair, shopping around and have a trial do or two, if you have trouble or are worried give me a call and I will happily point you in the right direction. For a (hopefully English speaking hairdresser in Buenos Aires,) that will help you achieve your wedding day hairstyle: 1. Establish a good rapport with the hairdresser. You should be comfortable in discussing with him or her on the style and look you want. Some hairdressers might insist on doing something that they´ve always dreamed would be made for them (if it´s a woman.). Be firm in telling what you want and don´t want. This is key, the consultation is more important than the technical side. You will gain great insight into the final outcome during your consultation. Good questions should involve, type of function, your current style, style of dress, colour of dress and the possiblity of colour for shine or statement, shoes and accessories. 2. The shape of your face in relation to the hairstyle that he or she proposes. Try the following styles: -Up do´s signify elegance and this is what most brides want. -Tired of the bun? Achieve the same polished look with braids instead. Braids are very "in" this season. From cornrows to French twists, there are numerous interesting ways to set your hair in place. -Letting your hair down, especially if mid-length can emanate romance. Flip the edges out for a little retro look. -Short hair can be spruced up with color highlights or shiny curls. 3. Ask to schedule a practice session to mock-up the intended hair-do for your wedding day. You may need to pay extra for this mock-up session, but it´s worth the spend to ensure you look lovely during your wedding, and you gain insight into the "onda" of the salon. 4. Part of the mock-up is to see if you can carry the hairstyle. Check side and rear views for how the hairstyle looks and make sure it is done to your liking. You are the center of attention on the wedding day, so you should be beautiful 360 degrees! TIP!: An extra foot of height on your head can look wierd if you rock-up to the mock-up in Indian sandals and no make-up. If possible get your make-up done by the same person you will use on the day. Allow for the lights, shoe height, formal make-up before you suggest going less because on the day you and your stylist will be busy. 5. Walk around the salon with your hairstyle. Try to bob your head abit or do other head movements that you think will happen on wedding day (well maybe not all.) Make sure your hairstyle withstands all the head activity and that you feel you and your scalp will be comfortable for hours. lol. 6. Now, traditionally, they say it is bad luck to try on your wedding dress before the wedding day. This is possibly because it is symbolic of a funeral shroud, hence the veil and the change of name, whatever. You need to be sure that your hairstyle matches the dresses for a wedding. Don´t worry; if the gown isn´t ready yet, you can still approximate the look by using other dresses. 7. On the eve of the wedding, get a head massage, on second thought, get a whole body massage! This relaxes your body, opens your pores and freshens up your skin. If you are super smart you factored these spa days for weeks into your wedding budget and you won´t break out the next day. Plan for your wedding day hairstyle and achieve the perfect wedding day look! Good luck! |
